WeWantGroups.com Spotlight on;

This Christmas, Ironbridge Valley of Invention is the perfect place to enjoy plenty of festive fun as we host our annual Victorian Christmas Weekends on 3 & 4 and 10 & 11 December.

Experience a traditional Victorian Christmas at our huge open-air site, Blists Hill Victorian Town, when the air will be filled with brass bands and carol singers, warm your hands on the burning braziers, see seasonal crafts and take a ride on the horse bus. Pick-up some unusual gifts in our Victorian shops and tuck into some festive food as you wander around the town chatting to the townsfolk as they make their preparations for the big day. As part of your visit, you will also see the Santa parade too so keep your eyes peeled!

We’ll be serving delicious festive fayre in our cafes & restaurants over these weekends and there will be pop-up refreshment stalls for take-away treats.

Groups of 15+ can enjoy an exclusive rate for entry to the Victorian Christmas event – just £15 per person (regular price is £21.50).

Advance booking is essential as this is one of our most popular events. Doors are open 10am-4pm and we recommend a visit lasts for around 2-3 hours.

Contact the Sales & Marketing team at groups@ironbridge.org.uk or 01952 435 900 to find out more and to book your group visit today.

Coach parking is free of charge and the driver & one organiser can enjoy complimentary admission too.

Blists Hill Victorian Town is a lively recreation of a working town in 1900. Here you will meet costumed characters and find out about their daily lives, see them at work in their workshops and factories and will get the chance to see heritage crafts skills in action, including blacksmithing, iron-pouring, tin-smithing and plaster-making. Pop into the cottages and chat to the villagers by the fireside, you never know what gossip you might pick up!

Blists Hill Victorian Town is one of a series of museums set within a UNESCO Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage site and part of Ironbridge Valley of Invention. There really is something for everyone, with museums exploring local industries that flourished in the Gorge in the 18th & 19th centuries including china-making, tile-making, clay tobacco pipe production and, of course, iron – the material that this picturesque valley is famous for. No visit to Shropshire is complete without a stop at the famous Iron Bridge – built in 1779 and the first of its kind, anywhere in the world.

Our ever-popular Fried Fish Dealer serves freshly prepared fish & chips, cooked in beef fat and served in a paper cone (veggie option available too!) which you can enjoy as you wander around the quaint streets of Victorian England.
