Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, occupies an enviable position on the south coast with an incredible waterfront and a bustling city centre. Home to fantastic events, cultural experiences and great shopping, there’s something for every traveller to enjoy here making it perfect for group visits.

Historic Harbour

Here you’ll also find the National Marine Aquarium, the UK’s largest, and home to more than 4,000 animals – from sharks and stingrays to Friday, a cheeky Green Turtle. Family members of all ages are sure to enjoy a visit here, exploring the underwater world.
The Box
The Box is Plymouth's new museum, art gallery and cultural centre, which opened in 2020. Nine permanent galleries showcase the incredible collections, including 14 monumental ships’ figureheads, thousands of natural history specimens, a full-size woolly mammoth replica, paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and ceramics from the city’s art collections, objects, film and photography from its media collections and documents, maps and plans from its archives.
Plymouth Hoe
A breath-taking panorama, no trip to Plymouth is complete without a visit to Plymouth Hoe. With unbeatable views across Plymouth Sound, it’s the perfect place to spend a sunny day. Visitors can stroll along the promenade, climb former lighthouse Smeaton’s Tower or take a dip in the art deco Tinside Lido.
Royal William Yard
A former Royal Navy victualling yard, this stunning collection of Grade I listed buildings has been transformed into one of Plymouth’s coolest spots, with a real contemporary vibe. Here visitors can soak up the vibrant café culture, tuck into lunch at one of the great restaurants or go for a coastal, climbing the staircase that links the Yard to the South West Coast Path.
City Centre
You'll find big name brands, great independents and amazing post-war architecture in the heart of Plymouth. The city centre is the home of the city’s shopping and the place to go for retail therapy. Browse high-street favourites in Drake Circus shopping centre or visit Plymouth Market in the West End to find some amazing unique stalls and incredible artisan food and drink.
