Westminster Abbey is one of the world’s greatest churches, with a history stretching back over a thousand years. It is in the heart of London, next to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. It is an essential part of any trip to the capital.
The Abbey has been the Coronation church since 1066, and the setting for many other great events in the life of the nation, including sixteen royal weddings and most recently, the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II. It is the burial place of kings and queens, and of other distinguished figures in the nation’s history, from writers and musicians to politicians and scientists.
What’s more, College Garden is reputed to be the oldest garden in England, dating back over 900 years.
