Devon’s Top Attractions announce two new Familiarisation visits!

The Award-winning attractions that make up the 35-strong Devon’s Top Attractions consortium were thrilled to be back at the NEC for the British Tourism and Travel Show, showcasing Devon for the first time since the pandemic took hold in March 2020, and they had some new and exciting products to promote.

Chairman of Devon’s Top Attractions, and PR and Business Development Manager at South Devon Railway, Dick Wood said:

“Our member attractions have put in a lot of innovative work over the last 18 months, so we are eager to get back to exhibiting and showcase all that’s great about Devon and its top visitor attractions at BTTS.

“The tourism and hospitality industry we all know has been hard hit and faced the most challenging of times. Yet, much like the proverbial ‘Phoenix rising from the ashes’, Devon has bounced back with strength and resilience. With clever re-modelling and adaptations at many member attractions, we are striving to keep Devon as one of the top destinations for group travel in the UK and our joint approach brings a new and fresh approach to us being at BTTS.”

Devon’s Top Attractions will be unveiling two upcoming and exciting NEW Familiarisation trips specifically for group organisers and operators to come along and experience.

The first one is on 7th- 10th December 2021 and will be a Festive Showcase on the English Riviera. Working with TLH Leisure Resort, it promises to be a festive showstopper, including visits to Exeter Christmas Market, the Polar Express, a Festive Cruise, a trip to the theatre, Christmas in the Caves and the ‘Train of Lights’.

It will be fully escorted, and some delicious Devon foodie treats are thrown in too.

The other upcoming FAM trip is on 15-18th March 2022 and group organisers and operators will be able to discover the delights of North Devon.

Devon’s Top Attractions are delighted to be working with Brend Hotels on this three-night FAM and it promises to deliver some new and exciting itinerary ideas while exploring North Devon’s stunning coastline and rich and beautiful countryside, including wild Exmoor. Highlights include a NEW Brewery and Gin Distillery tour, a VIP visit to Clovelly Village, a Dartington Crystal factory tour and a visit to the award winning RHS Garden Rosemoor.

Devon - Great for Groups!

Devon’s Top Attractions continue to work in partnership with the rest of the county’s tourism organisations, including Visit Devon and other area tourism partnerships, plus group friendly accommodation providers in order to make Devon a year-round top destination.

Devon’s Top Attractions members are all inspected annually to meet quality standards. With mysterious castles, botanical gardens and impressive stately homes, award-winning steam railways, narrow gauge trams, museums, and spectacular boat cruises all in the mix, Devon excels with its rich variety of top days out on offer. The attractions have also worked together to offer a number of interesting joint ticket opportunities and great value packages, so look forward to promoting these at the show.

Devon was winner of the 2019 Best UK Destination Award at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards and has been a finalist in 2018, 2020 and again this year, 2021. Plus, we have some Devon attractions who are finalists at the British Coach Tourism Awards this week.
