Visit Chester Zoo this Christmas and discover spectacular tales from around the world in a winter wonderland, full of festive sparkle and illumination!
The Zoo is transformed by breath-taking light installations which create new worlds for you to discover. Moving, interactive puppets will join you throughout your journey.
You will delve into a Norwegian fairy-tale land where huge white bears watch over a multi-coloured, glowing castle, wander through giant lotus flowers and flying dragonflies in a Japanese inspired garden and witness zebras in an African zone.
There are also orangutans in our immersive UV Bornean jungle, glowing, cosmic wolves and a giant snow leopard guarding a snowy mountain at the end of a light tunnel.
Father Christmas will be here spreading Christmas cheer and our Christmas Market will also return, with delicious festive treats on offer.

Santa and his team of elves will be returning to The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) this Christmas for a magical journey for all the family with the return of their Santa Special services.
This enchanting Christmas experience sees Mr Claus and his jolly helpers onboard the heritage carriages, giving families a chance to meet the legendary man himself, with a special gift for all the children onboard – providing they’ve managed to keep themselves off the naughty list, of course!
Tickets for this popular festive outing are now available and the special services run on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, and from 17th-24th December inclusive.
You can join Santa and his special team of elves from either Pickering (YO18 7AJ) or Grosmont (YO22 5QE) Stations* for an hour-long magical return adventure aboard the Santa Express, a festive journey your group won’t forget!

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride leaves Birmingham Moor Street station heading for the North Pole four times a day for 20 days between 26 November and 23 December. It takes place on board heritage carriages hauled on the return journey by a real steam engine.

We will depart from Tyseley, Birmingham in a Castle express steam locomotive, to join the East Coast Main Line to York with plenty of time to explore the Christmas market and the 30th Anniversary of St Nicholas Fair, which has been a staple in York’s streets during the festive period since 1992. The famous alpine chalets line Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square creating a festive wonderland, with an array of local traders and artisan products.
